High School Outreach Program
The Syracuse Chapter developed a High School Outreach Program to educate students about career opportunities in the insurance industry. Chapter members are available to attend career days and make class presentations. Contact Ronnie Wade, CPCU (rwade@securitymutual.com) if you are interested in getting involved or if you are a school looking for an insurance industry presentation.
Scholarships
The Syracuse Chapter Scholarship Committee, chaired by Ronnie Wade, CPCU, announced a major update to its scholarship program in 2011. In addition to scholarships available to the children and grandchildren of members, two new scholarships will also be offered each year. High school seniors planning to go to college to pursue a degree in insurance or an insurance-related field are eligible to apply for up to $1,000. Guidance counselors throughout Central NY are notified of the availability of the high school scholarship.
Good Works Projects
The goal of the Good Works Committee is to organize participation in events that will benefit our community. If you have an idea for a Good Works project contact committee co-chairs Diane Sanders (diane.sanders@libertymutual.com) or Laurie Robbins (laurie.robbins@libertymutual.com).
Custom Classes
The Education Committee offers customized training for local insurance companies and agencies suited to their employees.
