The Institutes heard you that there was a strong desire to have a CPCU in Good Standing Retired status. Thank you for your patience as we worked through the system upgrades and logistics to be able to roll out the new status. I'm pleased to share that effective today, CPCUs who are retired from the industry can now opt to be classified as CPCU Good Standing Retired and receive a special digital badge.
The Institutes' Good Standing Retired status is available to CPCUs who are retired from the risk and insurance profession and no longer utilizing their designation for commercial or paid purposes. Once approved, the Good Standing Retired status does not expire, and there is no need to report 24 continuing education credits every two years.
The CPCU Good Standing Retired status applies to the CPCU continuing education reporting requirement only. It is separate and apart from CPCU Society membership and any other Institutes' affiliate memberships.
The CPCU Good Standing Retired status is separate from the designation itself. CPCUs with the Retired status can continue to use the CPCU letters behind their name.
To secure the CPCU Good Standing Retired status:
- Log into the CPCU in Good Standing Reporting Tool.
- Click "Apply for Good Standing Retired Status" on the left menu.
- Complete the simple form and attest to your Retired status.
- There is no charge to secure the Retired status.
Within a week of completing the form, you will receive an email from email@example.com with a link to your CPCU Good Standing Retired digital badge that you can share in your email and social media. Your status will also update to Retired on The Institutes' Good Standing search page.
